From Groningen: direct, or change at Amersfoort. Once in Utrecht you will need an additional bus ticket (strippenkaart, see below under 'Local transport') to get to De Uithof (the university campus). If you need a taxi to or from stations use the treintaxi (taxi-tickets can be purchased at the station when you buy a train ticket). For detailed information, please visit the dutch railways web site.
There is a direct bus shuttle from Utrecht CS to the university campus De Uithof (direct bus 12s, as well as the buses 12 & 11 ). Ask the bus driver to stop at the Hugo R. Kruyt building, Padualaan 8. Bus tickets (strippenkaart, valid everywhere in the Netherlands) can be bought at the bus information under Utrecht CS, railway stations, post offices, most stationary and book shops and even at some supermarkets. They are also available directly in the bus, but at a higher price. Some regional buses (yellow, Centraal Nederland) cross the university complex as well: 42s & 51 to Zeist.
The university campus De Uithof is located South East of Utrecht.
From the exit go left (De Uithof) on the Universiteitsweg and go right at the 2nd road (Leuvenlaan), just after the info(i)-board. The huge building to the left at the end of the road is the Hugo R. Kruyt building just after passing the blue two-floor Nicolaas Bloembergen building, which houses the NMR department. Almost at the end of the road (opposit of the Minnaert-building with the red carpet walls) there is a parking next to the Kruyt building. A smaller one (red dirt ground) lies directly opposite of the NMR building.
The entrance of the Nicolaas Bloembergen building can only be accessed via the Hugo R. Kruyt building (a huge concrete building at the university complex De Uithof, 8 floors high, grey and with a yellow elevator house on top). Its address : Padualaan 8. The entrance of the Kruyt building is on the South-West side. Take the elevator or stairs to the 1st floor and follow direction East (Oost). Pass the footbridge that connects the two buildings. The entrance to the NMR building is at the end on the left. Please feel free to ask the secretary or somebody else in the lab for further assistence. The NMR building is open from 8am-6pm on working days. You can download a map of the Uithof.pdf here.
